INTERNATIONAL TRAINING FOR CAVE RESCUE INSTRUCTORS

15th  – 23rd  September, 2012


Speleological Association of Slovenia – Cave Rescue Service of Slovenia organized  an International Training for Cave rescue Instructors.

Meeting will be held in Sežana, Slovenia; from 15th  – 23rd  September 2012.

Training will be carried out by SSF instructors (Christian Dodelin & Bernard Tourte) (http://ssf.ffspeleo.fr/index.php) by the help of cave rescue instructors of Slovenian Cave Rescue Service and instructors of HGSS – Cave rescue commission.

Programme of the training is designed for experienced cave rescuers, who are either already cave rescue instructors or candidate for cave rescue instructor.

Frame Content of the Programme:

  • nature of karst underground and importance of cave protection
  • use of single rope technique
  • procedures used in cave accidents and mutual support between cavers
  • examination of a casualty
  • communication
  • team work
  • setting up of evacuation and transport systems and learning rescue manoeuvres
  • planning cave rescue and importance of exercise/rescue analysis
  • evacuation of a casualty/stretcher
  • accident prevention among cavers
  • setting up rescue units for international intervention
  • presentation of specialisations
