Task Title: Cave Rescue Unit

Objectives:

The purpose of the formation of Cave rescue unit for the interventions within the EU (on standby for the duration of the project). Instructors assigned to the unit will educate additional 20 cave rescuers within two years. They will be educated to progress one step on the grades scale (cave rescuer, rescue team leader and cave rescue instructors). Cave rescue unit will be adequately equipped for the intervention. If in 24 months will not participate in international intervention, on completion of the project will be organized and carried out a rescue exercise in a cave from depth of more than 500 m.

Name of the action: Review of standards and procedures for training cave rescuers

Description:

  • WHAT: Production of newest standards, procedures and methods of cave rescue trainin
  • HOW: Based on existing standards and experience common standards for cave rescuing will be created methods for training courses will be described.

Action E.2
Name of the action: Formation and equipping of cave rescue units for interventions within the EU

Description:

  • WHAT: The activity is intended for formation of units of experienced cave rescuers in Slovenia and Croatia and equipping units for international interventio
  • HOW: through the call up to choose the most appropriate candidates for the unit: 10 from Slovenia and 10 from Croatia, and four instructors from each country (unit composed of 28 members). The unit must be properly equipped for rescue from caves

Name of the action: 1st training of Cave Rescue Unit in Croatia

Description:

  • WHAT: Conduct the first training of 14 Croatian members of Cave Rescue Unit and selected Slovenian instructors, the intention is to make rescue manoeuvres compatible within Croatian members of the unit.
  • HOW: Instructors who are members of the team, supervising the work.

Description:

  • WHAT: Conduct the first training of 14 Slovenia members of Cave Rescue Unit and selected Croatian instructors, the intention is to make rescue manoeuvres compatible within Slovenian members of the unit.
  • HOW: Instructors who are members of the team, supervising the work.

Description:

  • WHAT: Conduct the second training of 14 Slovenian members of Cave Rescue Unit and selected Croatian instructors, intends to overpractice compatibility of rescue maneuvers of the unit.
  • HOW: Instructors who are members of the team, supervising the work.

Name of the action: The 1st joint training of Cave Rescue Unit

Description:

  • WHAT: Conduct the first training of the whole Cave Rescue Unit, intends to make rescue manoeuvres compatible between Slovenian and Croatian members of the unit
  • HOW: Instructors who are members of the team, supervising the work.

Name of the action: The 2nd joint training of Cave Rescue Unit

Description:

  • WHAT: Conduct the second training of the whole Cave Rescue Unit in winter conditions outside the cave in mountains.
  • HOW: Cave and alpine instructors leading and supervising the work.

Description:

  • WHAT: Conduct the third training of 14 Croatian members of Cave Rescue Unit and selected Slovenian instructors, intends to overpractice compatibility of rescue manoeuvres of the unit
  • HOW: Instructors who are members of the team, supervising the work

Name of the action: 3rd training of Cave Rescue Unit in Slovenia

Description:

  • WHAT: Conduct the third training of 14 Slovenian members of Cave Rescue Unit and selected Croatian instructors, intends to overpractice compatibility of rescue manoeuvres of the unit.
  • HOW: Instructors who are members of the team, supervising the work.

Action E.11
Name of the action: Execution of cave rescue exercise

Description:

  • WHAT: The cave rescue exercise is executed.
  • HOW: The exercise is performed by members of Cave rescue unit with assistance of the rest cave rescue operatives from services of Slovenia and Croatia. Execution will be realized only by support of prior activities (H.1. and H.2.).

Action E.12
Name of the action: Cave rescue exercise realization analysis and report

Description:

  • WHAT: A Final report of the trainings and exercise is prepared
  • HOW: The Head of exercise prepares a detailed report of all trainings and the entire cave rescue task. A brief analysis is held in the presence of all rescuers that participated immediately after completion of each action. The entire exercise is assessed and reviewed by reviewers (cave rescue instructors form Slovenia and Croatia).
